Aethro’s Position on AI and Creative Tools

AI is part of the modern internet, whether people like it or not.

By @askray

Aethro uses AI-generated and AI-assisted tools in parts of its workflow. That includes promotional graphics, blog imagery, social media posts, marketing materials, code review, troubleshooting, technical cleanup, and other practical uses where it helps us communicate, build, or operate more effectively.

We are not an AI-free organization, and we are not going to pretend to be one.

At the same time, Aethro is not “made by AI.”

Our projects are built through human ideas, human decisions, human creativity, human development, and human responsibility. AI may occasionally assist with specific work, but it is not the author, architect, owner, or decision-maker behind what Aethro creates.

Aethro Online: Chronicles of Kalismor

Aethro Online is built through original writing, original systems, original game design, original stories, original worldbuilding, and original development.

Its lore, gameplay direction, writing, design, and core systems are created by Aethro. AI is not writing the game, designing its world, creating its stories, or deciding how the project develops.

Technical AI assistance may occasionally be used to review code, identify possible problems, suggest cleanup, or help ensure changes are less likely to break something. That is support work, not authorship.

Play Aethro

Play Aethro may use AI-generated imagery and AI-assisted tools in marketing, announcements, blogs, promotional content, and other operational areas.

Because Play Aethro includes Minecraft servers, mods, plugins, and projects involving multiple contributors, AI use may differ between projects. We are not going to make impossible promises that every third-party contribution, plugin, mod, asset, or contributor workflow is entirely AI-free.

What matters is that Play Aethro remains directed by people. Our servers, communities, events, gameplay decisions, moderation, and projects are created and operated by human beings.

Owners Connect

Owners Connect was designed, structured, and built by Aethro.

The platform’s purpose, layout, systems, community direction, policies, feature planning, and decisions were created by people. AI may assist with technical review, code cleanup, troubleshooting, or identifying potential issues before something goes live.

That does not make Owners Connect an AI-built platform. It is an Aethro-built platform that uses available tools to help keep development practical and stable.

TopMCServer

TopMCServer, including the concept and mathematics behind TrueRank, was created by Aethro.

AI may assist with troubleshooting, reviewing code, improving implementation, or helping catch technical issues. It did not create the purpose of TMS, devise TrueRank, or make the decisions behind how the platform works.

Those ideas came from people.

Resolve

Resolve is also designed and built by Aethro.

Its support structure, workflows, features, policies, interface direction, and operational purpose are human-created. AI may assist with technical review, cleanup, troubleshooting, and safer implementation, but it does not independently design the platform or decide how support is handled.

AI Imagery and Marketing

Aethro will use AI-generated images in marketing, blog posts, announcements, social media, and promotional materials.

We are not going to hide that, apologize for every instance of it, or pretend that a generated image used for a blog post is equivalent to replacing an artist, fabricating evidence, or misleading people about reality.

Not every image, asset, or post will receive an individual AI label.

Modern creative work often includes a mix of edited images, templates, stock materials, screenshots, human-created graphics, generated elements, references, revisions, and multiple software tools. Requiring an individual audit and label for every visual asset is not realistic, useful, or meaningful.

We will be honest about Aethro’s overall approach: AI may be used as one tool among many.

What We Will Not Use AI For

Aethro will not use AI to impersonate real people, fabricate evidence, create fake announcements about real-world events, mislead users about factual information, or present synthetic material as real documentation.

We will not use AI as an excuse to avoid responsibility for what we publish, build, or manage. AI does not remove accountability. The people behind Aethro remain responsible for the decisions we make and the content we put into the world.

Environmental Concerns

Concerns about AI’s environmental impact are valid.

AI growth contributes to increased demand for data centers, electricity, water, hardware, and infrastructure. That deserves serious discussion, especially when major companies expand rapidly without enough transparency, accountability, or investment in cleaner energy.

At the same time, data-center growth is not caused by AI alone. The same infrastructure supports cloud storage, streaming, social media, search engines, ecommerce, gaming, enterprise software, backups, video platforms, and the broader internet used by billions of people every day. Companies such as Amazon, Google, Meta, TikTok, Microsoft, and countless others are expanding digital infrastructure for far more than generative AI.

Saying that every use of AI is “destroying the Earth” is not an accurate or useful way to discuss the issue.

The larger problem is how major companies, utilities, and governments choose to build, power, regulate, and account for expanding digital infrastructure. That is a systemic issue involving energy production, hardware supply chains, water use, construction, policy, and corporate accountability.

Aethro will make practical choices about the tools we use. We will not pretend that refusing every AI-assisted tool is a complete solution to a global infrastructure problem.

Human Creativity Still Matters

Human creativity remains central to Aethro.

We value original writing, game development, player builds, artwork, commissions, modding, coding, music, community events, storytelling, and the work people create together.

Using AI in some areas does not erase the value of human work in others.

We will continue to support and feature human-made work where it matters, and we will continue to build projects that come from human ideas, experiences, effort, and imagination.

People are welcome to dislike AI. They are welcome to avoid it in their own work. They are welcome to discuss concerns respectfully.

But Aethro will not be required to become an AI-free organization, and no one is entitled to dictate that every project, staff member, or community member adopt one absolute position on a complex and evolving technology.

Our position is simple:

Aethro will use technology thoughtfully, transparently, and responsibly. AI may assist us, but people remain at the center of what we build.
